Nine of our members volunteers their time, car and gas to
transport eye tissue to our Wisconsin Lions Eye Bank in Madison. After the
eyes are processed, the corneas are then driven to clinics and hospitals in the
Fox River Valley and beyond to doctors who transplant them into patients.
We are part of a state-wide transport team that brings donated eyes to the Eye
Bank in Madison. Fond du Lac is a hub with eyes coming from east central
Wisconsin. Our members take them to Beaver Dam where another Lion finishes
the last leg of the journey. Corneas are then brought to Fond du Lac where
our members transport them to Sheboygan, Appleton or Neenah and Green Bay.
